At the Christmas Party 2005, a Proclamation by our President stating that our Golden Triangle Quilt Guild would become official SISTER QUILT CITIES with Pass Patchers of Beaumont, CA. Members of both quilting groups are asked to participate in a block exchange between the 2 guilds. The criteria for this exchange are as follows:
1) Block should measure 12 1/2" by 12 1/2"
2) Background should be a light color
3)Any technique can be sued such as piecing or applique
4) Content should represent some aspect of Texas OR Southeast Louisiana
5) Turn in to Cathy Lempa
6) Blocks will be exchanged in groups of 10 and displayed by each group at Special Events
7) Blocks will eventually be assembled into a quilt to commemorate new friendships among quilters.
Thanks to all you loyal Texans, enthusiastic Cajuns, and helpful members. We have 13 blocks to exchange and 2 in revision. I know there are some more coming, so I am sending out another reminder. Hoping to have about 30 blocks for a nice size quilt before we're through. Still in need of typical Texas stuff, spurs, rope, hat, boots, you know, those things we use every day!! Remember, light background, 12 1/2", TX or LA subject.
