Meals:    Retreat generally runs Thursday thru mid-afternoon Sunday.  1st meal will be served 12:00 noon on Thursday.  Generally meals will be 8:00 for breakfast, 12:00 for lunch and 5:30 for supper.  The meals are balanced and plenty of salads, fruit, juices and deserts if you choose.  You serve yourself cafeteria style so portion control is up to you,  tea and coffee are always available at meal time.  There will be a snack table for those of us that like to bring snacks to share.  There is always a variety of things to munch on and you can bring your own drinks and we can use the ice from the kitchen.  Bring a mug with a good fitting lid to use at your sewing area - they really don't want a lot of eating in the sewing room but we do snack on things - but always careful to not make a mess.

Supplies to bring:  Retreat chairman usually brings leg extensions to raise several table to cutting height, ironing boards, and irons.  Bring your own rulers, mats, rotary cutters and please label your own tools as we all have the same stuff and it's impossible to tell one from the other.  Bring your own sewing tables and sewing chair as sitting for 4 days in a regular chair gets hard on the back.  Generally you will have about 5 square feet for your sewing area.  We try to arrange each sewing area in a "L" shape so most people bring 2 tables to work on.  Lighting is good - but some bring lights for their area.  There is a light spread on the bed - so most bring a quilt to sleep under.  2 sets of towels will be provided for the 4 days.

Activities:  The grounds are beautiful and there is a nice boardwalk thru the grounds to the river edge.  We usually try to plan several group games or projects - such as a fat quarter game, door prizes, and mystery quilts.  Details on these will be listed with the retreat dates.  There are several quilt shops in the Westlake and Lake Charles area, along with the usual shopping stores/malls.

Fat Quarter Game:  Left-Center-Right.  We try to play this 2 times.  Bring 3 fat quarters for each game (total of 6).  Fold or tie each fat quarter so that when we pass them they do not unfold.  If everyone plays you can win up to 90 fat quarters.

Door Prizes Drawing:  If you wish to participate bring one gift of your choice.  It needs to be something that you would enjoy receiving as a gift.  Doesn't have to be expensive - fat quarters, sewing notions that we all use, patterns, books, etc..  Please put it in a gift bag or wrap it up so that it isn't visible when it's on the table.

Of course the best part is show & tell
