Certified Quilt Appraisals

Do you have any quilts that you would like to know their value? Consider all the reasons a quilt should be appraised by a certified quilt appraisal:

1. Most insurance companies require a certified quilt appraisal to reimburse a stolen, lost or damaged quilt.

2. An Appraisal gives a quilt recipient a realistic value of their quilt gift.

3. IRS may require a certified appraisal when a quilt is listed as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes.

4. An appraisal gives documentation importance to new and vintage/antique quilts for future generations.

Written quilt appraisals will be available by appointment during the Golden Triangle Quilt Guild show on Saturday, January 19..  Quilts may be appraised for insurance or donation purposes or for market value if a person has a quilt that they wish to sell.  The fee for each appraisal is $40.  Antique and new quilts may be appraised as well as quilts hanging in the show.  Nell D. Smith, an American Quilters Society Certified Appraiser will be conducting the appraisals.  She received certification to appraise in 1993 and has appraised all over Texas and the southwest.  To make an appointment for appraisal, please contact Patsy Broussard
