Membership InformationThe membership year for The Golden Triangle Quilt Guild is from January thru December. Visitors are very welcome. Dues are renewable in January. Upon joining you will be asked to create a stitched name tag and wear it to all meetings. Members who forget their name tag are fined $.25 (which goes to the library fund) and provided with a paper name tag.

Benefits of membershipMonthly MeetingsThird Thursday of each month, Social time 12:00 pm and 6:30 pm, meeting begins at 12:30 pm and 7:00 pm, Northwood Christian Church, 5050 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas. ProgramsEach meeting will have a program presented by either a guild member or an outside teacher we have contracted with, often a nationally known speaker. Programs cover a variety of quilting-related subjects. WorkshopsMost of our program presenters will also do one or two workshops on Friday/Saturday following the meeting day. These workshops are a convenient opportunity for members to take a class from a well-known quilter at a reasonable price. Non-members are charged an increased amount and spots are limited on a space available basis. Fundraising EventEach year in January we host an event aimed at raising funds for the guild. Every other year we present a Quilt show. In non-quilt show years we have had fashion shows and "extravganzas" with nationally known teachers giving two-day lectures; new in 2002 will be an auction of quilts made by our members. LibraryWe have an extensive library that has books, magazines, and videos available for members to check out Monthly NewsletterEach paid member will receive the monthly newsletter, which serves as our main vehicle of information dispersal. We recommend reading from cover to cover, as many interesting articles, ads, announcements are found there. BeesBees are small groups of friends that get together to share ideas and quilting skills. Our Guild supports many bees. For help locating a bee that might have space for new members, contact Barbara Wallace. RetreatsTwice a year we offer members the chance to run away from home for several days. This is a "sew till you drop" experience. Lots of friendly conversation and helpful hands cheer on participants. |
