We recently distributed all the completed quilts that we had. Becky Miles, delivered 20 quilts
to Rosemaryh Hanicak in San Antonio. Rosemary and her two sisters wash every quilt, put a card
with the quilt that tells the soldier the quilt came from the Golden Triangle Quilt Guild, and they
are then delivered to Brooks Medical Center. As of Feburary 19 the quilts have all been delivered.
Our contact at Brooks Medical Center states that the fighting has increased and they have more
injured coming into their facility: therefore, there was a need for more quilts. Rosemary and her
sisters had also completed quilts and they were included with ours
Becky selected one of the quitls for the first annual quilt auction to be held in May in
Fredericksburg to benefit the volunteer fire department.
Those quilts not suitable for soldiers such as baby quilts were given to Some Other Place (5)
and CASA (4). These, along with the soldier quilts totals 30 quilts.
We had pillowcases left from the boutique sale and those were given to Boys Haven, Some Other Place
and CASA.
