Hurricane Ike turned the lives of some of our quilters upside down but thanks to our guild 12 of our members are ready to start quilting again.
In April the guild threw a show for the members who lost so much to the Hurricane Ike. Members and businesses alike donated
items that would help these members get their sewing rooms back up and running. Thank you to all who helped and donated items.
Quilts given away since the first of the year:
Brooks Medical Center - 8
Women's Shelter - 1
Some Other Place - 4
Doll clothes are also being made for gifting to United Board of Missions in Port Arthur for the children's mother who shop there(free of charge).
We have a box that we keep in readiness to send to Mexico in January. These are fabrics not suitable for making quilts.
Dear Dot and Golden Triangle Quilt Guild,
We went to the Post office today here on Bragg, and there was a box with one of the most gorgeous quilts in it! WOW!!
We love the colors, love the plaids, love the angles! It is masculine yet so bright and friendly. We think this is a great quilt for a wounded paratrooper!
And LOVE the long-arming.. (personally I have just begun long-arming, and it is hard work! and I only did a pantograph! ) And a great back, too.
We will put our commemorative "jump log" label next to yours so that when it gets jumped in the
paratrooper jumping for the wounded brother or sister paratrooper will sign it.
Thank you SO much!

BOYS HAVEN REPORT - 2009
5 Quilts have been deliver. The boys were thrilled and had a wonderful variety and choices from which to choose.
This month (August) we presented seven new boys with quilts and took pictures with the boys. Much thanks goes out to all the wonderful
guild members who have donated quilts and/or their time to the wonderful cause. There were several members in attendance.
The boys were thrilled with the quilts, please remember these boys when you are planning your quilt projects during the year.
The quilts should be at least 60" x 72" but can be larger (there are some tall boys) and can be for any age boy from 6 - 16 years.
