2003 Community Service Report: Here is a brief summary of our accomplishments for 2003. We donated a total of 30 quilts, sold quilts at the quilt show and at the Neches River Fest totaling $315, donated 14 receiving blankets and 13 doll blankets to the United Board of Missions. We added $185 to the $315 for a $500 cash conation to the United Board of Missions in the name of the Golden Triangle Quilt Guild. This money was earned by pinning quilts for a fee. We also buy our supplies such as thread, rulers, needles, etc. from a reserve that we keep on hand. We made jewelry bags, pillow case kits and fabric bundles for our donation to the boutique at the quilt show. We are in the process of making a quilt as our donation to the auction this fall. Our doll dress contest netted us 75 doll dresses. We have a small group that meets weekly numbering most often no more then 5 or 6 people but with the ready volunteers at the guild meetings who take and finish our pinned quilts or put together our pre-cut kits we were able to accomplish all this.
